Sun City

Sun City is a huge resort situated in the North West province of South Africa. It is bordered by the Pilanesberg national park and host four hotels: The Cabanas, Sun City Hotel, Cascades Hotel and of course The Palace of the lost city. It’s about two and half hours away from O.R Tambo airport in Johannesburg, making it a perfect spot for holiday makers looking to visit South Africa.

If you’ve seen the move Blended, you should already be aware of the tons of activities the resort has to offer. During my time in South Africa, we spent a day at the resort and indulged in some of the activities. Here are some I would recommend for anyone looking to visit the resort:

Get Lost In The Maze

Honestly, you’d probably give up and use the quick exit path if you go into the maze but if you are up to the task, get lost in the Maze.

Quad Biking Safari

This is perhaps my favourite activity at Sun City. You get to ride on a quad bike while spoting wildlife in Pilanesberg national park. You don’t have to be a perfect driver to go on the quad bike. There’s an instructor to take you through the basics and to be honest, it’s pretty easy to ride.

Valley Of The Waves

The idea behind the valley of the waves is completely genius to me. It’s an artificial beach that creates waves at intervals and it really does look like a beach. If you have enough time to get all soaked up, then you can swim in the valley of the waves.

Jet Skiing

You’d really enjoy this activity if you are not scared of water. Riding the jet ski is not so difficult but if you are scared of going on your own, you can choose to ride with n instructor or any other person who is good at riding. I chose to be a driver and it was really fun. There are yellow balls marked at different points on the lake to create a boundary so riders will not go of course.

Have you ever been to Sun City? What other things can be done there? Please comment.
